Some of you may be wondering how the Covid-19 pandemic is affecting our local real estate market. - especially if you’ve been thinking about making a move.

My advice? Carefully consider your own situation.

Based upon the Michigan Governor’s Executive Order 2020-21, real estate services, like the showing of homes, open houses, and other client contact is considered to be non-critical and travel to do so is prohibited through April 13, 2020. Updates are possible, but here’s what happening.

Realtors are continuing to conduct business remotely. All communication and documents can be handled online through various platforms already in place.

Buyers can browse and view properties from their home. Through virtual tours, properties can be viewed in great detail. Some buyers have even made offers contingent upon viewing the property in person within 48 hours after the Executive Order has been lifted.

Sellers are continuing to list their homes during this time. Many sellers are preparing for the spring market that, although delayed, is right around the corner. 

Again, consider your own situation.

If you absolutely need to buy or sell right now, let’s talk and formulate a plan under these new, temporary constraints.

Otherwise, sit tight for now.
